Rene Bonet spent most of her childhood in Leesburg, Virginia, a small political town just outside of Washington, D.C. In order to find a creative outlet that would help her stay out of trouble, she began writing poetry in high school. Rene quickly realized that she had a talent for songwriting as she put her words into music for family and friends.
She continued traveling shortly thereafter, attending open mics and networking events in the Washington, DC, region, but felt constrained by the small town. She knew it was time to leave Loudoun permanently after her brother Jajuan “Murphy” Johnson was shot and killed in 2008 near Middleburg, Virginia.
Rene went beyond the typical “workflow” lifestyle to pursue her passion for music through poetry, which forced her to travel many roads alone. The DMV native moved to Atlanta, Georgia, shortly after graduating from Loudoun County high school to pursue her creative interests. She was able to collaborate with Grammy-winning engineer Alvin Speights, who worked with Michael Jackson, Madonna, and Boyz II Men, here. Rene gained invaluable studio knowledge during this time that would assist her in the music and entertainment industries in the future. Although her alter ego, Bully Barbé, is certain to up the ante on the Hip Hop scene, Bonét’s songs are considered classic R&B. As of late recognized on RevoltTV who was established by Hip Jump Magnate Sean P. Diddy brushes, for her most recent delivery “Shawdy” She is truly establishing a decent first connection. As one of the Dream Warriors at their Artist Development Camp in Los Angeles, California, currently collaborating with Bad Boys Lauren Ann Gibson and OC Hit-official Thomas Barsoe. Under these two circumstances, Rene Bonét intends to build a successful music career
